A collection of archives is a very great project. This remains a very great source of information on what the pass held on something, what is now and gives the possibility to know or to forecast what the future holds.

While Manchester's Death of a President started his popularity, it was The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill: Visions of Glory, 1874–1932 (1983) and The Last Lion: Winston Spencer Churchill, Alone 1932–1940 (1988) that have expanded his readership to new prominence. The third and final volume about Churchill (WSC: The Last Lion, Defender of the Realm)that Manchester began is currently being completed by Paul Reid.
